Just wanted to thank you again for your advice during the planning session call we had a few weeks ago.  I ended up changing our plans and took my stepson and his friend to the area you recommended for four days.  Much easier 5 mile hike to camp, so we weren't exhausted on our first evening.  The boys had a blast and we saw a legal buck our first evening of hunting, although I couldn't get a shot opportunity.  The rest of the weekend we saw a fair amount of deer, all does, lots of other animals, and had some great weather as well.  After the third day, my stepson's friend said, "I think I'm addicted to hunting."  Can't wait to take them out again!
